Old Victorian Silver Hand Mirror Orchids Fairy WandBuyer pays $8.50 for professional packing adn insured shipping. (that is for u. S. Lower 48 only. Elsewhere in the known universe request quote. ). I'll bet you do the saem thing i do. Every single time i see an antique victorian hand mirror with flamboyant decoration, i pick it up and have a look. At best, i usually find a slinky woman with long flowing hair. Not so here! This one si really exciting. I found it in one of the estates i'm selling. When i saw the fairy and her magic wand, i got so excited i started to shake. Tears of joy rolled down my cheeks, and i heard a choir singing the familiar chorus rfom handel. Since i was the only one in the old home at the time, i allowed myself to yell out, yes! That's when i realized i'd made a tiny little wet spot on the front of my jeans, and i was expecting my helper to show up any minute. Oh wait! Never mind. That's not exactly the way it happened, but it's close enough for hte purposes of this description. Sorry 'bout that. So. It's in nice shape, and it measures 10 1/4 long, and it's 5 3/4 across. The beveled mirror is a little under 5 in diameter. Let's get on with it and take a clsoe look. No doubt about it that's the good fairy. Her gown is gossamer thin, revealing the artist's knowledge and skill as it relates to the female form. If this fairy would grant me but one wish, it would be that the mirror had some sort of mark to let me know who made it. A sterling mark would be nice also, but i'm pretty sure it is victorian silver-plate. I can't find a mark at all, but taht doesn't mean you won't, espcially if you're eyes are a lot younger than mine. Here at 341, i have two prime directives. First i never, under any circumstances, use a reserve, and everything starts at $9, sometimes even less.
Second i don't clean, repair, or otherwise monkey around wiht anything. I push enough dust aside to note any flaws, but if i discovered it in some dusty attic, you can look forward to a little dust on it when it gets to your house. If it has a flaw or a wart, i'll tell you about it. So rest easy and have some fun. Why not place a little tiny bid right now so's you don't forget about it later.Nice! The silvering on the beveled mirror is really nice. You'll note a few tiny dots of loss, but it certainly isn't anything remarkable certainly not heartbreaking. Talk about deep relief! I guess that's an orchid. Right? Rethinking htat single wish thing.I thnik i'd need at least four wishes. The first woudl have to do with fame and fortune can't help that. Btu then i'd wish good things to happen to all the folks who've stuck with me over the last ten years on ebay. You, in other words. (then, of course, there's that thing about world peace and naturally i'd like to influence the election. ) oh well. As granny always said if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. You'll notice a dent or so around the outside, but there again, nothing remarkable. I absolutely guarantee you'll eb thrilled. (if this is your first time to visit me here at 341, i'd like you to do a couple things. First remember to tune me out when i statr to ramble. And second go take a look at a few hundred pages fo my feedback. Then come right back and bid. ). See wyh i got so excited! Good luck. Buyer pays $8.50 for rpofessional packing and insured shipping.
