Antique Silver Glass Dresser Powder Vanity Jar VintageAntique dresser / powder / vanity jara gloriously ornate large victorian dresser jar. This jar is signed with the makers mark for heisey. H inside a diamond. This identifies this jar as an original heisey. The makers mark is molded into the bottom of the jar and surrounded by a sunburst.
This is an incredibly spectacular dresser jar. The glass jar is ten sided and gleaming in the way only hand made glass can.
I would say this jar is early 1900s to 1930 judging by its style and the patterns on the lidthe lid has a mark of 42 along the rim and inside there are very faint numbers or letters which look to be hand inscribed. I do not know what these numbers mean, but this lid is not sterling. I would say it is silverplate over metal. The lid is heavily carved with florals and foliage encircling the centre and then edged with two ornate circular scrolls. The lid is carved in the atr nouveau style and is original to the jar.
According to my research heisey glass was manufactured from about 1896 until 1957 heisey glass was always mouth-blown and completely fabricated by hand (hand pressed) for this method expert workmanshpi is required. The considerable hand finishing that went into the production of these pieces made them top quality and expensive ot purchase.
Heisey glassware was often on the victorian brides' registry. Collector interets in genuine heisey pieces has increased over time.
Conditionthere is a wear mark in centre the lid which i have shown in my photos. This is commensurate with its great age and probably from years of polishing. It also has a minmial amount of light scratching, not worth mentioning as visible only under close scrutiny. The glass jar is perfect showing no chips or cracks at all. It is highly polished and gleaming.
It is a very heavy glass jarthe craftsmanship is absolutely exquisite and my photos show the elaborate dteail much more than i can describe in words. An exquisite piece for the collector of antique perfume bottles, vanity items. Bid with confidence. R. Approx measurements height 3 1/2 inches or about 9 cm diameter 5 and 1/2 inches or about 14cm.

Costs will only be for the actual postage, bubble wrap and padded bag or box. International bidders i will sell to new zealand, uk, usa, canada but you must contact me for post and insurance costs. Payments to be made by paypal ofr international bidders. Australian bidders payments can eb made by paypal, money order, bank cheque, personal cheque or direct bank deposit. Payment must be made within 5 days of auction closing or i will relist item and auction it again. Items will be mailed once payments become lceared funds. Return policy i am not an expert but i will describe and photograh my items to the best of ym ability and with honesty. Occasionally i may miss something or i may feel it is not worth a mention. As these items are vintage or antqiue and therefore used, they may not be perfect. If i have seriously misrepresented an item i will refund your money. I am a reasonable person and will try to sort any problems to suit all parties. If you want brand new, please do not bid on my itemsi will not refund for buyer remorse or buyer purchasing incorrect size or buyer incorrect interpretation of description. Shipping charges will not be refunded, cots of item only. Contact is happily welcomed even if tehre is a problem.
