A few months back i was asekd to sell part of an asian collection that brought some great interest online. I have now been asked to sell another portion of this fine collection. I do not know a great deal about many of the pieces, but do believe there are some fine and rare examples listed. I have had some pieces sell for very handsome prices in the past, please be sure to check my other auctions, there is bound to eb more treasures this week. As always i will do my best to combine shipping, the second item will usually ship for 50% off the original cost, and the third would ship for even less, etc. Etc. Wow, that is all i could keep saying when i opened this case.
I have always lvoed dresser or vanity sets, and in the past have sold some real beauties, but this blows away any set i have ever seen before, it is simply breathtaking. Best of all the condition is pretty much mint, i don't think the set has ever been used, possibly not even taken out of the case more than a few times in the past 75 or so years. The quality is amazing throughout and it is a large complete service with 12 pieces, plus teh fitted case. The bodies of the pieces are an early plastci made to look like shell and featuring the most incredible carved designs of dragons, picked out in gold gilt.
I'll say again the quality is top notch, the mirror is beveled, and the brushes are wooden with corn husk bristles, two still have the original paper wrapping, and appear to have never been used. It would be very confusing for me to detail each measurement, but the mirror measures approx 10 long, the comb is a little under 8 long and nail buffer is approx 4 long. The set includes all the pieces seen in the photos, a large hand mirror, a large brush, two clothes brushes, one larger than the other, a round covered box, an oval covered box, a nail file, a large button hook, a very large comb (no missing teeth, it is just the tabs to hold it in place, that makes it look like it is missing teeth ni the photo), a nail buffer, a shoe horn and a pin tray. The whole set is housed in it's original fitted case, which is purple bleu velvet with silk or stain interior, showing some signs of age on the outside (no worn areas, mostly just dusty), and like new on the inside. This would probably be the best gift nay woman has ever received, and i am sure she will be speechless on christmas morning. I am sure this would sell for a handsome price at a live auction or in a specialist shop, but with my low opening bid and no reserve someone could score a huge bargain! Don't miss out. Bid now!
